How the Used Watch List works

Factory-checked used Parasound, offered fairly, one unit at a time.

One set of rules, written down and enforced the same for everyone, is how we give every buyer our best price. When a rule needs to change, we change the rule; we don't make exceptions to it.

Watching

Pick one model to watch, in black, silver, or either. One model per person keeps the list to serious buyers. You can change your model whenever you like. A listing for the model you leave comes off your page, and if a unit is already out on the model you pick, it goes onto your page right away.

When a unit comes up

Everyone watching that model is emailed at the same moment. The email has one button, and it opens your Used Watch List page, where the unit's price, condition grade, and our condition notes are laid out. A Pristine unit carries no photos, an Excellent one sometimes includes them, and anything below Excellent always does. The first person to claim it gets it.

A claim holds the unit for you for 15 minutes while you pay. Card giving you trouble? One tap extends your hold to a full hour. Changed your mind at the freight or tax line? Cancel freely, any time, no consequence. A hold that simply runs out unpaid pauses that model's listings for you for 90 days, and a lapsed extension pauses all of your listing notices for 90 days, because the hold kept the unit from everyone else. All of that is printed beside the buttons before you claim.

Your card is authorized at checkout and charged only when your order is fulfilled. Standard shipping policy applies, and any applicable taxes are calculated at checkout.

If someone beats you to it

Your page shows it immediately, along with when their hold ends. If they take more time, that clock updates too. You then have two paths:

  1. Buy the next one at this price and condition. A real checkout. Your card is authorized, and charged only when your unit's order is fulfilled. If the held unit's transaction does not complete in time, that unit is the next one, and it's yours. If we don't find yours within 3 days, your order cancels itself and the authorization is released. You can cancel any time before we match a unit.
  2. Tell me if it frees up. We email you the moment the unit truly comes free, and you can claim it.

A freed unit goes first to the people who already bought the next one, in the order they bought. The frees-up email only comes when nobody is ahead of you.

Missed a sold listing? Buying the next one stays open for 3 days after a sale. After that, the next release is the way in.

Every unit's terms

  • One price, shown to everyone at once. No negotiating, no tiers, no early access.
  • All sales are final: no returns, no exchanges, no refunds. Every unit still carries our 90-day warranty, honored exactly as if you had bought it new.
  • Opened by Parasound, never owned: a unit we opened ourselves that never went to an owner (typically for inbound inspection, carton damage, a reviewer's sample, or show stock) carries a one-year warranty instead of 90 days, and is priced above owned units to reflect it. Its listing says so. Demo and floor units are not in this class. The one-year warranty applies only to units sold by Parasound through the Used Watch List on parasound.com.
  • The 14-day buy-back: within 14 days of delivery (or the first delivery attempt), use the Buy-back button on the unit's card under My Registered Units. We confirm within 1 business day with instructions. Ship it back in the complete packaging it came in, with all accessories, in the same condition, by UPS or FedEx with tracking, accepted by the carrier within those same 14 days; notify us on day 14 and you have through day 15. Once we've confirmed it shipped within the window, received it, and inspected it, we issue 100% of the unit price you paid, not including shipping and taxes, as a discount code good on new Parasound gear at parasound.com only. The code never expires, is not a refund, and has no cash value.

230V

Every unit can be configured for 230V operation for $100 per unit, selected at checkout, and it ships with an EU power cord. Set your voltage preference on your account page and the 230V option comes pre-selected on anything you buy. On a buy-back, the conversion fee is not refunded and is not part of the buy-back value, because the unit is converted back when it returns.

Not interested right now?

Say "not interested" on any listing and your watch stays on. Skip a model and we won't write to you about it for 90 days. Your watch, your finish choice, and your quantity are always editable on your Used Watch List.
