For fastest support and troubleshooting:
- Contact your dealer first. They have broader knowledge of additional components and can physically verify any issues before returning your unit to Parasound.
- If you do not have a dealer, fill out the support form at parasound.com/help, and we will direct you to an appropriate resource.

Parasound Limited Warranty Policy (Effective September 1, 2026)
Definitions
- New: never opened after leaving Parasound’s warehouse. A unit that has been opened for any reason is not New, even if it has never been sold.
- Registered Dealer: a dealer listed in Find a Dealer at the time of your purchase.
- Authorized Distributor: the independent company that imports and supports Parasound products in a country outside the USA.
- Original Owner: the first owner of the product: the buyer, or the gift recipient described under “Gifts” below.
- Complete Original Packaging: the outer carton, any inner cartons, and all foam pieces.
- parasound.com/help: our support form, and the one address to remember for any question, warranty claim, or service request.
Registration Is Never Required for Coverage
- Your Parasound factory warranty begins on the date of your original purchase, whether or not you register your product. One exception, described under Warranty Coverage & Duration below: a unit your dealer sourced through a distributor is covered from the date your dealer acquired it, so ask for its warranty standing before you buy. When you buy a New Parasound product directly from us or from a Registered Dealer, you are covered from that purchase date for the full warranty term of your product line.
- We still encourage you to register (see How to Register). Registration puts your warranty on record so we can serve you faster, connects your unit to your account for support, and gives registered owners priority in our support queue. It is a benefit, never a requirement.
Parasound Factory Warranty – USA Only
- The factory warranty applies only to units purchased New (see Definitions) either directly from Parasound at Parasound.com or from a US Registered Dealer at the time of sale, and sold and shipped within the U.S.
- Units purchased after June 15, 2023, that were previously opened for any reason after shipment from Parasound are excluded from warranty coverage.
- Warranty coverage is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser, except as described under “Gifts” below.
- Parasound does not warrant in any way products purchased from anyone who is not a Parasound Registered Dealer at the time of sale.
- A product sold by a dealer who is no longer a Registered Dealer at the time of sale is not covered by this limited warranty, and the seller is required to disclose that to you.
- If any of these conditions apply, this limited warranty does not apply to your unit.
Verify Before You Buy
- Not sure about a dealer? Check Find a Dealer or ask us at parasound.com/help before you buy and we will confirm whether they are currently registered.
- Buying from a dealer’s stock? Ask for the unit’s serial number (and its Owner’s Certificate, where provided) and we will confirm the unit’s status and warranty standing to the best of our knowledge.
- Units a dealer sources through an Authorized Distributor: once the dealer has purchased the unit, you can ask for its serial and certificate numbers and verify the warranty timing with us in advance. If the dealer has not purchased the unit yet, you can validate it when you receive and register it.
- When you purchase the unit, its certificate and serial record pass to you. If the condition or sale terms of the unit you receive do not match what you were promised, report it to us immediately.
International Warranty – Handled by Local Distributors and Dealers
- Parasound’s factory warranty does not apply to customers outside of the USA, including Canada. Parasound has no direct obligation for warranty support or service outside of the USA.
- International Authorized Distributors are independent businesses and are under no obligation to provide warranty repairs for Parasound products they did not import. Each international Parasound Authorized Distributor is solely responsible for their own warranty and repair policies.
- If you purchased a Parasound product outside the USA contact your dealer or the Authorized Distributor in your country for warranty and service options.
Warranty Coverage & Duration (USA Only)
Subject to the terms and conditions stated below, Starwarriors IV LLC (“Parasound”) warrants to the original owner, under this limited warranty, that new, unopened products shall be free from defects in workmanship or materials as follows:
Product Line |
Parts & Labor Warranty Period |
JC and HALO Series |
3 Years |
ZoneMaster™ Series |
2 Years |
New Classic |
2 Years |
Z Custom |
1 Year |
Remote controls (included with a new unit) |
1 Year |
Parts (Parasound.com only) |
30 Days |
Used, sold by Parasound (Parasound.com only) |
90 Days |
- The warranty start date is based on the first purchase from a Registered Dealer, Distributor, or Parasound directly through Parasound.com as a consumer.
- A unit a Registered Dealer purchased through a distributor has a warranty start date based on that purchase, not the date they resell it to you. Time the unit spends in the dealer's stock therefore comes out of the term, which is why we will confirm a unit's warranty standing for you before you buy it (see Verify Before You Buy).
- Read descriptions and receipts carefully to ensure you are purchasing a unit that has never been opened, especially when offered at a discount. Sellers may provide their own warranties on opened products, but they are not covered under Parasound’s factory warranty.
- Your original dated invoice is required to obtain warranty service. Two exceptions where no receipt is needed: products purchased directly from Parasound.com are registered to you automatically at shipment, and when your dealer registers your sale with your email address your unit is registered to you automatically and your Owner’s Certificate (tying you to your serial number) is emailed to you.
- Used, opened (an opened unit is a used unit), open-box, and B-stock products carry no Parasound factory warranty unless sold directly by Parasound. This exclusion applies to units purchased after June 15, 2023, the date it took effect; purchases before that date are governed by the policy in effect at the time (see Previous Versions below). A used unit sold by anyone other than Parasound, including an authorized dealer, carries no Parasound factory warranty. A used unit sold directly by Parasound carries the 90-day term above; a longer term, when granted, is stated at the time of sale and recorded with your registration.
Warranty is Non-Transferable
Warranty Applies Only to the Original Purchaser
- Parasound’s factory warranty is strictly non-transferable.
- If the original owner transfers ownership of the product before the warranty expires, this warranty terminates immediately.
- The only exception for gifts is if the original purchase receipt explicitly lists the gift recipient’s name in the “Ship-To” address at the time of sale and that recipient resides in the USA.
Gifts: The Recipient Is the Original Owner
- If your Parasound product was bought new as a gift for you and your name was entered as the ship-to name on the original order at the time of sale (even if it shipped to the buyer’s address), you are its original owner. Your coverage is the same as if you had purchased it yourself: the warranty runs from the original purchase date, and you inherit the exact remaining term. A gift is not a second-hand sale.
- For units purchased from a Registered Dealer, a gift is recognized only when the recipient is named on the dealer’s original invoice or the dealer registers the sale to the recipient. A dealer sale is warrantable only to the person named on that original invoice or registration.
- The owner is either the person who bought the unit or the person named on the shipment or invoice, never anyone else. If you received a Parasound product as a gift, register it in your own name (see How to Register) so our records show the true owner.
Your Warranty is VOID If:
- The unit was resold or transferred to another owner.
- The unit was given as a gift without the recipient’s name entered as the ship-to name on the original order.
- The unit was purchased from an unauthorized seller or third-party reseller
Warranty Service & Return Policy
What Parasound Will Do Under the Warranty
- Parasound will provide all necessary parts and labor to restore the product to its original specifications and return the product to the original dealer/seller or owner if the dealer/seller is no longer a Registered Dealer.
- Parasound will only pay for return shipping within the 48 contiguous United States, regardless of where the owner currently resides. Owners outside the contiguous United States must arrange onward transportation at their expense once warranty repair is complete.
- In the alternative, Parasound may, at its sole option, replace the Product with a new, refurbished, or comparable unit of equal or better condition and functionality, or refund the purchase price shown on the original dated invoice, subject, where appropriate, to reasonable depreciation for actual use in accordance with applicable laws, in full satisfaction of its warranty obligations.
- Repaired or replacement units continue the original warranty for the remainder of its term, or 90 days, whichever is longer. A replacement never starts a new warranty.
- Repair, replacement, and refund decisions account for the unit’s condition as received. Damage not covered by this warranty (for example abuse, modification, or transit damage) may be repaired at the owner’s expense or reflected in any replacement or refund.
- Parasound will undertake to complete the repair and return of the Product as soon as circumstances permit, unless prevented by causes beyond its reasonable control.
- Unit is not eligible for repair under the terms of the Parasound warranty if:
- Unit was not purchased from a Parasound Registered Dealer (at the time of sale)
- You are not the original owner. The Parasound warranty is not transferable.
- Unit’s serial number was removed, modified, or defaced.
- Unit shows evidence of abuse and/or misuse.
- Damage was caused by unauthorized repair or modification (a unit may also be refused service if a prior unauthorized repair makes reliable diagnosis impossible).
- Unit was purchased as anything other than new/unopened for purchases made after June 15, 2023
Limitations on Parasound’s Warranty Obligations
- Parasound is not responsible for removal or installation charges, shipping expenses to the dealer/seller, Parasound, or an authorized service facility, loss of use, property damage, or other incidental or consequential damages.
- Note: Some states do not allow exclusions or limitations of consequential damages, so these exclusions may not apply to you.
- Any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the term of this limited warranty, to the extent permitted by law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
- This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
What the Owner Must Do to Obtain Service
A defect is confirmed by inspection, not by report. Parasound will assist with troubleshooting, and your dealer can verify that a problem occurs on their reference system, but the final determination that a unit is defective under this warranty is made by Parasound’s trained technicians after the unit is received and bench-tested. A unit that is not returned for inspection cannot be confirmed defective, and remedies under this warranty apply only to confirmed defects.
If Purchased from a Registered Dealer:
- Contact your dealer first to troubleshoot the issue.
- If troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, arrange transportation of the product (in Complete Original Packaging, prepaid; insurance recommended) to your dealer.
- Your dealer will validate the issue on their reference system, coordinate a warranty RMA with Parasound, validate the repair on their reference system, and arrange return of the product to you.
If Purchased Directly from Parasound or the Dealer is No Longer Registered:
- Fill out the support form at parasound.com/help.
- Parasound will validate warranty support and assign troubleshooting resources.
- If Parasound directs that the product be returned, Shipping instructions including a RMA number will be issued. RMA number must appear on the return label.
Packaging and Shipping Requirements
- Use the Complete Original Packaging (outer carton, inner cartons, and all foam pieces) for safe transit to the dealer or Parasound. If unavailable, authorized replacement packaging can be purchased from the Parasound webstore.
- Customers are responsible for shipping costs to the dealer or Parasound.
- We recommend insuring the product for its full retail cost. Transit risk is the owner’s whether or not insurance is purchased.
- Parasound is not responsible for transit damage.
- Parasound reserves the right to charge for new factory packaging when returning a repaired product if the received packaging was correct but in an unacceptable condition for return shipping.
Units Will Be Refused Service Under the Following Conditions:
- Unit was sent without the Parasound-assigned RMA number marked on the carton.
- Unit was not sent in complete Parasound carton and packing.
- Unit was shipped collect for shipping charges. We do not accept collect shipments.
- Unit was shipped via the US Postal Service.
- Unit was sent to an address other than the address instructed by our RMA authorization email.
Can Not Duplicate (CND) Fee
- Before shipping any unit back, contact your dealer.
- If a unit is returned and the reported defect cannot be duplicated, defect has been caused by external factors, warranty has been voided, or accidental damage (non-shipping related), the customer will be charged a Can Not Duplicate fee plus boxing fees and return freight prior to return of the unit: $100 for Z Custom, ZoneMaster and New Classic, $200 for HALO and JC.
Return Shipping & Storage Policy
- If an RMA is issued, the unit must arrive within 30 days. If not received by this deadline, the RMA will be closed, and the issue considered resolved.
- Return shipping costs to Parasound or Dealer are the responsibility of the customer/dealer.
- If a unit is found to violate return shipping instructions or have a voided warranty, Parasound will notify the customer. The customer provides a prepaid return shipping label.
- If a customer does not provide the label within 30 days of request, a storage fee of $10 per day will apply.
- If unclaimed for an additional 60 days (90 days total), the unit will be considered abandoned and, after written notice and to the extent permitted by law, disposed of, recycled, or sold to recover Parasound’s costs. Parasound will in no way be responsible for the unit once this time period has passed.
Exclusions: Parts and Occurrences That are Not Covered by the Warranty
In addition to the exclusions stated in the sections above, this Warranty does not cover any of the following:
- Glass or plastic panels, cabinetry, trim, or other appearance items (except where they are defective at the time of original sale and the Product is delivered for repair within the first thirty (30) days thereafter);
- Batteries or failure of or damage to the Product caused by batteries.
- Lack of routine maintenance
- Fair wear and tear
- Connection to an improper voltage supply
- Failures arising from accident, carelessness, improper transportation, abuse, catastrophe, misuse, neglect, externally short-circuited, or failure to properly connect or operate the Product in accordance with the accompanying instructions or specifications.
- Failure of mechanical moving parts (such as cooling fans and disc mechanisms), remote controls, lasers, front panel displays and video screens occurring more than 1 (one) year after purchase, even though the Product may otherwise still be under warranty. Switches and controls are not subject to this one-year limit.
- Failures or damage caused by tampering, alteration, or servicing by anyone other than Parasound using a valid RMA, and any Product whose serial number has been removed, modified, or defaced. Opening the unit does not by itself void this warranty, but the Product contains no user-serviceable parts, and anything damaged inside it is not covered.
- Damage caused by alterations or modifications to the unit.
- Failures arising from improper installation or placement of the Product, including inadequate ventilation (for example, amplifiers stacked directly on one another, installation in an enclosed cabinet, or insufficient clearance above, below, or beside the unit), or from incompatibility of other components in the system of which the Product is a part.
Parasound shall have no liability or obligation of any kind with respect to any of the foregoing types of failures.
