Dealer Program Rules and Registration Rules
The rules referred to in the Registered Dealer Agreement. Public so that anyone reading the Agreement can read what it points at.
Registration rules
Registration is the program, not paperwork attached to it. A unit you hold and a unit you sold are two separate records and we ask for both. Everything a dealer earns follows from them.
The clocks
What a registered sale needs
- The customer’s name.
- The customer’s email address.
- The unaltered customer invoice.
Unaltered means the invoice as issued to your customer. It is the same document three ways: it records the sale, it evidences the advertised price, and it is what the customer’s warranty record is built from.
If a customer will not be shared
Some clients do not want their details passed to a manufacturer and some projects are confidential. That is a real constraint and there is a path for it.
Registering the customer is what puts you on record as their dealer and attaches project protection to that sale, so it is a decision worth making deliberately, unit by unit.
Consequences, stated plainly
- A unit bought at parasound.com and not registered to its customer ends the dealership on the first occurrence. You confirm the obligation at the cart on every purchase and at every reservation, and the alternative above is always open, so this is never a surprise.
- A distributor purchase not registered is an obligation that gates program benefits and warranty conveyance. It is not grounds for termination.
- If your customer registers the unit before you register the sale, the unit is protected but the sale credit and dealer of record do not attach.
- A late registration on a distributor-sourced unit still stands and still records you as the dealer the unit came from, but the benefits of that sale do not follow.
Warranty availability on stock
A unit bought at parasound.com carries the full factory warranty for your customer for one year from your purchase. Register the sale inside that year and your customer receives the whole warranty, running from their purchase.
After that year the unit is still new and still sealed. New means it has not been opened since it shipped from Parasound, and a calendar does not open a carton. What the unit no longer carries is a factory warranty.
You will not have to track this. We tell you the end date when you mark a unit as stock, we remind you by serial number before it arrives, and affected units appear on your statement.
A unit bought from the distributor works differently: its warranty period begins on the date you bought it, registered on time or late.
Used units
Used means anything other than new and unopened, and a used unit carries no Parasound warranty. No rider is needed to sell used. The rules are the rules.
A used unit may be advertised and sold online where every listing:
- displays the unit’s serial number;
- covers a unit registered into your possession, not merely registered to its original buyer; and
- states plainly that the unit carries no Parasound factory warranty.
Falling short of those conditions is addressed in proportion to what happened, up to and including termination.
Selling online
Selling new Parasound online, add-to-cart or otherwise, requires written approval from Parasound. It is not part of the base appointment, and approval is a conversation about how you go to market rather than a form to complete.
Approved online dealers connect their store’s order feed so that sales register themselves. It is a single workflow inside your own admin, which you can read, edit or switch off at any time.
New product is never listed on third-party marketplaces. Used units may be, on the three conditions above.
Advertised price
Advertised price is governed by the Unilateral Pricing Policy, which is Addendum A to the Registered Dealer Agreement and is reproduced there in full. It applies to new, current-model product wherever that unit came from, and it does not apply to used, open-box or demo units.
A validated violation terminates dealer status immediately. There is no warning ladder and no first-one-free, and we would rather say so here than have it be a discovery later.
How these rules change
Under Section 15 of the Agreement, these rules and the Unilateral Pricing Policy are unilateral policies. Parasound may update them on notice to you, without a new signature and without amending the Agreement. The body of the Agreement changes only by a writing signed by both parties.
Every change to this page is dated below, so what applied on a given day stays checkable.
