Promotional Use Program (PUP)
The Promotional Use Program (PUP) turns our extensive open box/B-stock inventory into a powerful tool for dealers. PUP keeps costs low and protects the value of new products. This strategic use of B-stock prevents downward price pressure on new sales and gives dealers a competitive edge over other brands. With lower costs and minimal financial and inventory risks, creative dealers can aggressively grow their sales without worrying about offloading outdated demo units. PUP provides a smart, flexible way to drive profitability while staying nimble in the market.
How it Works
The Promotional Use Program (PUP) is designed to help dealers creatively boost their sales using Parasound products without significant upfront investment. Here’s how it works:
How to Participate:
- Identify Opportunities: Review your business and determine which Parasound models could significantly grow your sales.
- Request a Meeting: Set up a quick meeting with your Rep or David to discuss how the PUP can help you. We'll explore the opportunities together and outline a plan.
- Agree on Terms: If we agree on the objectives and targets, Parasound will document our commitments and any dealer commitments, including revenue targets and any milestones or checkpoints for success. PUP unit priority will be given to dealers committing to at least 5x the cost in increased yearly sales over and focus program commitments or deliver a similar benefit to Parasound.
Examples of Creative PUP Use:
- Comparison Demos: Set up multiple models for customers to compare directly on the floor.
- Sales Rep Training: Allow reps to use units at home to deepen their product knowledge and passion.
- Customer Engagement: Feature a "Unit of the Quarter" to bring customers back into the store.
- Short-Term Loaners: Offer customers short-term loaners (install today, replace with a new unit when it arrives).
Program Details:
- Upfront Costs: Dealers cover freight both ways. Dealers can either coordinate the freight or pay Parasound for this.
- Performance Credit: If agreed-upon sales targets are met, Parasound will credit 50% of the freight costs to apply against future orders. This is only available when formal sales objectives are defined as part of the PUP agreement.
- Unit Use and Care: Dealers can use the units flexibly but must keep all packaging, boxes, and accessories in great condition for return.
- Program Duration: Parasound and the dealer mutually agree upon objectives. If objectives are not met within this period, Parasound may recall the unit. Units are reviewed every 6 months thereafter, with sales targets maintained as long as the dealer has the unit.
- Ownership and Liability: The unit remains the property of Parasound. If the unit is damaged, the dealer will be charged upon return. If the unit is sold, it will be invoiced at the current MSRP.
